Rollo Hollins

Rollo Hollins is a director with a DoP’s eye and a real instinct for people. He came up through cinematography, but somewhere along the way the image stopped being enough on its own. What drives his work now is character, casting and that specific spark you get when something unexpected happens in front of the camera. His films move fast, feel fresh and often carry a playful visual idea, but there is always a human pulse underneath.
He likes performances with a bit of quirk, charm and awkward truth in them. He likes cameras that move, ideas that take a leap and worlds that can stretch from documentary observation to comedy, CGI and something completely invented. The result is work that feels polished without becoming stiff, funny without chasing the joke, and contemporary without trying too hard to prove it. That mix of instinct, craft and personality is what makes Rollo such an exciting director to have in the room.
